As I have embarked into a new year, I always like to reflect on the previous year and think about the lessons that I have learned and what I can take into a new year for lessons learned. For this week, I am going to share a couple of my personal lessons learned with you. I probably will have a couple more before January.
1. Make every day count. Sometimes we can spend so much time on the things that won't even matter in 45 minutes and miss the important stuff. Enjoy the time that you have because you don't know the time that you may not be able to. 2. Learn to let go. This is a FOREVER process for me but I learned in 2014 that people are people. People can change like you empty out dishwasher ( which I hope is frequent :) _LOL). We all can be emotional roller coasters and at the end of the day, I choose on whether the boundaries of how much I am going to allow you to affect me. Yes, people have hurt me, disappointed me, used me, took advantage of my kindness, but holding on to grudges only gives them more power over me. 3. I CHOOSE.... I choose. I choose what is a priority in my life such as God, family, etc. I had learned within the last year to make a decision that best suits and stick to it. Though feedback and input can be beneficial, at the end of the day I choose what works for me. 4. I am built for this. Someone asked me the other day how do I do what I do and still be sane? I first laughed but in my reflection time, I thought about it. I am a wife, daughter, sister, granddaughter, auntie, friend, church member, outreach coordinator, instructor, business owner (of 3), and graduate student! WHEW... a lot to type! Foremost, I try to keep God first in everything that I do. Most people don't want to half-tail anything so I believe that it takes wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to maneuver and maintain without overexertion! This does not mean that I don't want to quit sometimes, or sometimes that I don't feel like a failure, but what it does allow me to know is that even though I may get brought to my knees, I get back up, dust myself off, and go at it again! and the last one for tonight ... 5. What you do matters. As an Basic Skills Instructor, I encounter various people who have been cast away, told they would never be anything, and really has given up hope. I have to remember that sometimes when my students come into my class, I may be the only person who sees potential in them or that supports them. It does not always FEEL like I am making a difference and they are getting on my nerves ( Teachers, you can relate) but everything that I do matters. Not only in my classroom , but how I treat my husband matters. How I treat my parents and sibling matters. How I treat my neighbor, it all matters. I hope that you received something out of my lessons learned. Feel free to comment or share any lessons that you have learned for 2015. I would love to hear from you. Tameka J Tyner I get asked many times about what is the difference between natural and handmade products. I thought that it would be beneficial if I created some clarification within a post. We carry a full line of products that include hand-blended and natural products. Our natural products will be indicated throughout this website; meaning that we have created this product from scratch( such as castille soap, body scrubs, body creams/ whips, lip balms, body butters) when all others (hand-blended) mean that we have blended the product but had another vendor to create an initial base( for example, body wash, soy wax candles and tarts, elegant/decorative soaps, and traditional lotion). Now, understand that though initial bases may be done outside our place, we do all the fragrance blending for all our products which is a very tedious task to take on!
All of our oils are certified essential and fragrance oils that offer a greater intensive aroma with less to no alcohol than most oils. If you would like to view certificates on any specific oils, please refer to our Ingredients page. We have provided an information to assist our customers with picking fragrances and to know exactly what you are getting when you are purchasing from us on our online store. We have no reason to hide any ingredients. We trust and have faith that we have provided a great quality product. |
